Retort volume is not monthly capacity
Ask which feedstock underlies the calculation, how much fits in a retort and what proportion of charcoal meets the buyer's requirements. Establish where cooling takes place and how many spare retorts are needed. Compare quotations using the same feedstock, working schedule and operations.
Check loaded-retort handling
Choose a forklift or hoist alongside the site layout. Check lifting capacity, available lifting height, access aisles and vehicle approaches. Use the combined mass of retort, feedstock and lifting accessories, not the empty vessel alone.
