Uniform loading

Load briquettes without impact or excessive pressure while preserving paths for heat and gas movement.

Controlled heating

Fast heating causes cracks; slow heating reduces output. Tune the temperature profile through measured cycles.

Air-free cooling

Hot carbonized briquettes are highly sensitive to oxygen. Sealed cooling preserves mass and strength.

Repeatable quality

Record moisture, stage temperatures, cycle duration and product yield to reproduce results.

Identical shape does not mean identical feedstock

Record the briquette producer, composition, dimensions, moisture and storage conditions. A new batch may require checking the established operating regime.

Account for combustion of released gases

Assess retort capacity and heat-generator compatibility. In one Royal Carbon project, two kilns were connected with shared heat management systems.

Assess quality after unloading

Record intact briquettes, cracks and fines after unloading and normal handling. Good appearance does not replace agreed charcoal-composition requirements.
